Native Americans in the USA have the highest chemical dependency rate of all the ethnic people groups in the country.  While alcoholism and drug-addictions are certainly problems in and of themselves, we have come to realize that there are usually underlying psychological/spiritual issues making the individual vulnerable to their addictions.  When these root problems are identified, addressed, and healing is experienced, chemical-dependency often is either easier to overcome or is eliminated altogether.  A high percentage of addicts look to the effect of a chemically-produced euphoria to relieve the ill-at-ease feeling of inner emotional "wounds" and painful memories.  For that reason, our addictions counseling approach always involves assisting counselees to examine themselves for possible underlying causes as part of the recovery process.

Even with the presence of underlying causes, we acknowledge and address the inherent detrimental effects of substance addictions.  Our approach involves the 12-Step process, aspects of CBT, and other effective strategies, all in the context of Christ's healing grace.

Our addictions counselors are fully-trained CDP's (Chemical Dependency Professionals) and certified by the State of Washington.
